Absolutely Stunning
This weekend I had some extra time to dive into my September issues, and I just can't get over how stunning Gwyneth Paltrow was in Elle. I mean, this woman does not age! And I love how she is really reinventing herself... sure, she's an Oscar winner and used to date Brad Pitt, but now she's guest-starring on Glee (love) and writing a cookbook! Well done, Gwynnie. She definitely does not disappoint in Elle either, that's for sure. Every image is luminous and stylish. I also loved the spark of humor and personality that she showed in the article - you could feel her honesty and the fact that she was really trying to open up. And I am absolutely dying over the Christopher Kane sweater she is wearing in the shots above - gorgeous!

Backstage
Isabel Marant is one of my favorite designers, partly because of one fabulous dress, so I was thrilled to find these backstage pics from her Fall/Winter 2011-2012 show on her site. There's something about "behind the scenes" that I love - you can feel the glamour, the frenzy, the last-minute genius.
Thanks for the peek behind the scenes, Isabel.

Friday's Favorite Look 8.26
Animal print just hasn't gone away and for fall I feel like it's bigger and better than ever. From bags to shoes to cardis to dresses, I keep seeing animal in a major way. I love this Dolce and Gabbana dress on Rose Byrne - the non-traditional color feels fresh and daring. I love the bracelet length sleeves and the belt as well.

Tweed and Mustard
I made my first fall (of what will probably be many) purchase this week, a fantastic yellow tweed blazer from J.Crew. Last week I was writing about a grey blazer, which I did find, and on the same (online) shopping trip, I discovered this yellow one. I am loving mustard yellow for fall, and the tweed fabric is the perfect way to give a little texture to an outfit. Tell me, have you made any fall-forward purchases yet?

Style Crush: Michelle Williams
Michelle Williams is one of those actresses who can be both casual and elegant and is always unique no matter the event or occasion. Also as a single mom, she is often seen out and about with her daughter, always looking chic and beautiful, and most of all, herself.
Sparkling at the Oscars
Out and about on the street, looking casual
With her daughter, Matilda
Another street style look
I'm always a fan of a pixie cut
Couldn't resist adding one with Ryan Gosling (sigh), her Blue Valentine co-star
One of my favorites, in this amazing shade of yellow
I love this emotional picture - feels like a look inside her private world

Green-Eyed Monster
I try not to be jealous most of the time, but after seeing these beautiful pics on From Me to You, and the feature in Lucky magazine that was the end result, I couldn't help but wish that was me! I love the behind the scenes pictures that Jamie shared on her blog just as much as the final ones that ended up in the magazine.
Who are the models and who are the bloggers?? Wow - these ladies are gorgeous! And here are some of the behind the scenes pics that I really fell in love with...

Friday's Favorite Look 8.19
It's always fun to find a new blog, and this week I discovered a fantastic street style blog, Mr. Newton. A NYC resident, he brings unique and fresh imagery to the street style world and has some really great looks. I was particularly taken with this polka dot look below. Mr. Newton is destined to become part of my daily reads!

Loeffler Randall Fall Collection
My day was made on Tuesday by seeing that Loeffler Randall had launched their Fall collection. LR has long been an absolute favorite of mine, and some of my favorite shoes are theirs. And it appears they have done it again...
These are definitely my picks from the entire collection, obviously I need them all!! I also loved reading about Jessie's inspiration for the collection on their blog: "We designed into a Safari concept, which led to animal prints, combining fabrics with rugged leathers, and the addition of buckles and lace-up details throughout. The palette of beautiful dark neutrals like chestnut brown and midnight blue evokes the safari landscape at night." Genius!

Westward Event @ Kate Spade
After the big launch last week of Kate Spade's new Westward collection, their collaboration with Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, they held a fabulous styling event at the Grant Ave. store this past Sunday. I found out about it from Alicia, of the glamorous Cheetah is the New Black, and was thrilled to go. I had a blast mingling with the other bloggers and Kate Spade staff. Little did I know this event would also involve a styling challenge: choose one bag from the Westward collection and style a look around it. So fun!
I had more shopping to do so I couldn't stay for the challenge, however I did pick up my favorite Westward bag and had a great time watching the other bloggers style away. I chose the Ingenue bag (below), a gorgeous crossbody in brown ostrich. It also converts into an oversized clutch which was one of the reasons I loved it.
Thanks to Kate Spade for hosting this fabulous event!

In Search of: A Grey Blazer
As it gets closer to fall, I keep thinking that what my wardrobe needs is a grey blazer. I am a big fan of blazers as a layering piece over any look, both professional or casual. And since grey is one of those neutrals that goes with almost everything, this blazer is just what I need. Here are a few that caught my eye...
I ordered one from J.Crew just yesterday, so hopefully it will work out!
