Do you layer when you get dressed in the morning? I have to say, it is a rare day that I don't wear a cami or a tank under my top or dress each day. Maybe it's because I am petite and many tops sit a bit low so I like to have that extra layer to complete my look. So over the years I have spent lots of time finding the perfect layering tank and today I can say my pick is...
The Favorite Tank from Vince! I discovered these tanks about a year ago while attending an event at the Vince store here in SF, and was completely hooked. I recently stocked up on more because I found I was wanting to wear them every day! They have a great fit, longer silhouette, and the softest fabric.
I also love the tami and ribbed tanks from Old Navy, as well as these great layering camis that Banana Republic used to make (they don't carry them anymore so good thing I own 6!). What about you? Want to share your favorite layering pieces?

Friday's Favorite Look 6.22
With the gloomy clouds returning to SF, I was feeling beachy today. I love this look found on Garance Dore (such an amazing site) - it really gave me that vacation feel. I am definitely craving some sun and beach time, or at least some pool time in the next few weeks. This look has a great mix of exotic boho with a sporty surf feel. I also like the shirt as a less-traditional beach cover-up.
Have a great weekend!

New Shoes from NYC
While in NYC a few weeks ago, I made it a priority to visit the shoe departments in Barneys. While we do have Barneys here in SF, the stores in NYC have always been a key spot to visit. On the main shoes floor, I eyed the Christian Louboutin and Lanvin shoes that are on my wish list. But up on the co-op floor, I found some sassy new shoes that were within my budget for this trip. I love the blend of orange (my favorite) with snakeskin... such a fun combination and surprisingly easy to wear!

CFDA Awards: Accessories Spotlight
While I appreciated all of the CFDA nominees this year, I particularly loved the accessories categories (I do have a soft spot for accessories...). I wanted to share my top picks for what I would want to own from these designers.
First up: a bag from Alexander Wang. The structure, the sophistication, the elevated color... it's all so beautiful. I also love the less-traditional shapes of his bags.
Pamela Love's jewelry is a unique blend of different metals and stones, and is almost something that you would see in the Southwest or South America. I love the shapes that she uses and the strong statement that each piece makes.
Of course these are only a few - the other nominees were all outstanding as well. Congrats to the winners of the accessories categories: Reed Krakoff and Tabitha Simmons.

Friday's Favorite Look 6.15
Last week I was traveling in NYC so I didn't have a chance to write about the fabulous CFDA awards. Not to be missed, these awards are some of the most important in the fashion world. Next week, I will be featuring some of the designers that won, but for now, I wanted to share a favorite look from the red carpet. I love this Joseph Altuzarra dress on Kate Bosworth - such a unique sihouette and print.

Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibit
This week I finally made it to see the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the deYoung Museum, and I am so glad I did. I was so impressed by the creativity of this exhibit - the way that it was presented really highlighted the different aspects of JPG's career, as well as the fashion itself. Each room was very artistically displayed, and had these mannequins with faces (which I could not get over!) on them via projectors above. Here are some of my favorite moments from the exhibit.
Along with the runway looks, I was also impressed to learn about the musicians (Madonna, of course), ballets, and movies that JPG had costumed. It is definitely rare to see an artist like him that is able to translate his creative vision into so many mediums. If you haven't yet been to this exhibit, definitely make it a priority to get there!
